WINTER AND SPRING THEATRE WORKSHOPS 2008
ACTING IN THE AFTERNOON: AGES 12 AND UP The Pony Expresso... or the villain came to a grinding halt Learn all about the theatrical style of Melodrama while rehearsing for this rollicking western: The Pony Expresso, a friendly establishment run by Star Bright and Aunt Dee Caff, is struggling. Their customers are buying their coffee at a lower price from the scheming Mo Cabana and Fifi Latte. This wild melodrama has the ultimate blend of fun characters! Class begins on January 15th through February 21st Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6PM with performances on February 22,23,24. Class is limited to 15 participants.
KINDERDRAMA KIDS AGES 4-7 Take a trip around the world as we explore folk stories about cats from several cultures. Children will prepare for their show "MEOW" by participating in movement, acting, song, and visual arts activities. Two sections of class are scheduled for February 2nd through April 5th on Saturdays from 9:00-10:30 OR from 10:30-12:00 at the CCT facility. There will be no class over Spring Break March 8 and 15. Final dress rehearsal is April 10th from 6:00-7:30pm. Performance of the stories for the community will take place on April 11, 12 at 7:00pm and April 13th at 2:00pm. Each class is limited to 12 participants.
THE NOT READY FOR BEDTIME PLAYERS AGES 8-12
"Everybody wants to be a cat because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at!" It's Disney's ARISTOCATS and it's coming to the CCT stage! Students will participate in stimulating creative drama exercises and learn about characterization, voice, stage movement, and basic theatrical terms. The cast will also paint sets and props in preparation for their production. There will be two sections of class for this session: Section 1 will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5:30PM beginning March 18 through May 1st with performances on May 2,3,4 and section 2 will meet Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00 PM beginning March 22nd through May 3rd with a final dress rehearsal on May 8th from 6:00-7:30 and performances May 9,10,11. Each section is limited to 18 participants.
